ARCATA, Calif. – One of the California Collegiate Athletic Association's most storied rivalries is renewed on the national stage as Humboldt State hosts Chico State in a basketball doubleheader on ESPN3 Saturday in Lumberjack Arena. The action tips off with women's basketball at 5:30 p.m., followed by men's basketball at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday's games will be streamed live via ESPN3 on WatchESPN and the ESPN app. Fans are encouraged to WEAR WHITE, and Edward Jones will be giving away free t-shirts, while supplies last. HSU students, faculty and staff receive free admission with campus ID.

Following a 76-63 win over Notre Dame de Namur Wednesday night, HSU women's basketball looks to add another home victory before hitting the road for six straight. The Jacks have faced tough competition so far after facing a top NAIA program and a pair of perennial West Region leaders in Seattle Pacific and Western Washington at the West Region Crossover Classic in Fresno, Calif. HSU has won six of the last seven meetings with Chico State, but the Wildcats still hold a 68-26 advantage in the all-time series.

Kindall Murie and newcomer Tyla Turner have been the top scorers for the Green and Gold with each averaging double figures. Murie finished two points shy of her career-best with 18 in Wednesday's game against the Argonauts, and the senior leads the team with seven 3-point baskets. Turner joined her twin sister Tyra this season and has made an immediate impact. The transfer from Long Beach State is averaging 11.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

The HSU men aim to snap a four-game losing streak against Chico State. The Wildcats swept last season's series and captured a 100-83 victory over the Green and Gold on the North Coast. HSU looks to continue its strong start following a 110-66 win against Pacific Union at home, which improved the Jacks record to 2-2 overall.

Tyras Rattler Jr. has been the Jacks' leading scorer through four games, averaging 13.5 points per contest. He recorded his first double-double of the season against the Pioneers and finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Newcomer Davasyia Hagger is the squad's top rebounder averaging 7.0 boards per game. The Jacks have won the rebounding battle in each of their four games.
