SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. –
Humboldt State men's basketball travels south to face Cal State San Bernardino in its first conference road game of the season Saturday evening in Coussoulis Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Lumberjacks took care of business on the road against the Coyotes last season as they captured an 88-81 win powered by an 18-point, eight-rebound performance from Tyras Rattler Jr. Rattler is averaging a team-high 14.2 points and six boards per game this season.

Newcomer Davasyia Hagger was the big story in the HSU's 84-74 win Tuesday in Lumberjack Arena versus Simpson, scoring 26 points and grabbing six rebounds. The Jacks led by as many as 19 points in the game. Hagger is chipping in 11 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

This will be HSU's first chance at redemption following their CCAA-opening 77-67 loss to nationally ranked Chico State last week in an ESPN3 game.

The Coyotes have a record of 2-3 (0-1 CCAA) and are coming off a 77-70 win last Saturday over Vanguard. Head Coach Jeff Oliver is in his 16th season leading San Bernardino, and the Coyotes went 11-14 overall last year.

Ajon Efferson, a transfer from Division I Cal State Northridge, is one of the Coyotes' top players this season. Efferson is a threat from 3-point range shooting 43.3 percent from long range, and he is averaging 15.8 points per game. The junior has scored in double figures in all but one game this season.
