LIVE STATS

ARCATA, Calif. –
The Humboldt State softball team travels to Hayward with a five-game winning streak and eyeing a series victory against another California Collegiate Athletic Association opponent. The Lumberjacks face the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay beginning Saturday at 1 p.m.

The four-game series was moved from Friday/Saturday to Saturday/Sunday due to inclement weather in the area.

Spring always seems to provide scheduling issues for the Green and Gold and this season has been no different. HSU took two from Notre Dame de Namur on Wednesday in Atherton, Calif., at Menlo College. The Jacks swept the non-conference doubleheader by scores of 7-5 and 9-1.

East Bay has lost its last five games entering this weekend's series. The Pioneers are batting .249 as a team, which ranks last in the CCAA, and has the conference's fifth best ERA (3.56). Freshman Maddie Ramirez leads the squad with a .325 batting average and 15 RBI. In the circle, sophomore Abby Greer has posted a 2.71 ERA and a 3-8 record in 15 outings.

The Jacks have relied on contributions from newcomers to power the team's current winning streak. Danica Grier is batting .500 in 14 at-bats during the stretch, while Micaela Harris and Rylie Carlier have each hit a pair of home runs. Freshman Lexee Sheiring has overcome a slow start and has allowed one earned run in her last 11.1 innings.
