Volleyball Hosts Wildcats and Warriors This Weekend

| By:
ARCATA, Calif. – The Jacks return from a bye week with home court advantage this weekend as they welcome Chico State and Stanislaus State. Humboldt State volleyball will face the Wildcats Friday at 7 p.m. and the Warriors Saturday at 5 p.m. in Lumberjack Arena.

Following a loss to Sonoma State last week, HSU stands with an overall record of 3-10, 0-5 CCAA. Middle blocker Hannah Cantrell was essential in last week's defense against the Seawolves providing 4.0 blocks in Friday's matchup. Cantrell currently leads the team in blocks with 32.

"We're meeting individually with our players to go over areas that we need them to start stepping up," said Head Coach Kelly Wood. "It's time for those younger players, new players, or even returning players to start producing more on the court."

Currently 10-5 overall, Chico State hopes to rebound from a home loss to East Bay. Junior setter Nicole Desrochers ranks first in the conference with 26 service aces.

Winner of three of its last four matches, Stanislaus State is 10-5 overall. Senior middle blocker Alana Wilson-Reid is ranked fifth in hitting percentage with a .386. Sophomore setter Breanna Cannon leads the Warriors with 396 assists, averaging 8.80 per set.

HSU will head to the Bay Area Friday, Oct. 5 to play against San Francisco State in the Main Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
