LIVE STATS & VIDEO

ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State will host the Cal State Monterey Bay volleyball team on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m in Lumberjack Arena for HSU's first home game of the season.

"Monterey Bay is a very good team. They have a really good setter and they run a 5-1 setup," said Head Coach Kelly Wood. "Right now we are really focusing on the serve and pass aspect of the game. We know we won't be bigger and stronger than some of the teams we will face. We can't over power them so we need to be in system as much as possible in order to be successful offensively. We were inconsistent with that against Sonoma and that is something we will focus on for tomorrow."

Monterey Bay has a 5-2 record following a split weekend. The Otters took Dominican University for a 3-0 ride but came up short against Point Loma University, 3-1, on Saturday. The Otters finished last season with a 14-13 mark and they were 8-10 against conference opponents.
