Lumberjacks In Southern California For Final Time This Weekend

ARCATA, Calif.---  The Humboldt State Lumberjacks' men's soccer team will be on the road for the final time this regular season with a pair of CCAA matches in Southern California.  The Lumberjacks will face Cal Poly Pomona this Friday, October 25 at 3pm and Cal State San Bernardino on Sunday, October 27 at 2pm. 

 RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND:  Humboldt State went 1-1 this past weekend at College Creek Field.  The Lumberjacks started the weekend with a 4-2 win over Cal State East Bay.  Dalton Rice and Ethan Waters each scored a goal while Isaiah Dairo scored twice in the Lumberjacks' win.  Marco Silveira recorded two assists for HSU.  The Lumberjacks ended the weekend with a 2-1 loss to Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday.  Gus Baxter scored HSU's goal on a penalty kick. 

 UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS:  Humboldt State enters this weekend with a 6-6 overall record and a 2-5 CCAA record.  Isaiah Dairo leads the way with his nine goals with one assist for a team leading 19 points.  Marco Silveira is second on the team with his 12 points.  Silveira has scored two goals this season with a team leading eight assists.  Third on the team in scoring is Gus Baxter with his five goals and two assists for 11 points.  Tied for fourth in scoring each with eight points as Devin Hauenstein and Dalton Rice each have three goals and two assists.  Robert Quintero has posted a 1.96 goals against average with 51 saves and a .708 saves percentage in 11 matches. Tab Heinz has a 1.53 goals against average in two matches.

 UPDATE ON THE BRONCOS:  Cal Poly Pomona enters this weekend with a 6-4-2 overall record and a 5-1-1 CCAA record.  The Broncos went 1-1 last weekend with a 4-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills and a 1-0 loss to Cal State Los Angeles in overtime.  Jimmie Villalobus leads the team with his ten goals, two assists and 22 points.  Miguel Bayma has a 1.01 goals against average with 23 saves in five matches.  Jordan Aldama has seen action in four matches while posting a 0.98 goals against average.  CPP leads the all-time series with the Lumberjacks 10-2 including winning 2-1 in Arcata last season.

UPDATE ON THE COYOTES:  No. 13 Cal State San Bernardino is 8-1-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the CCAA after going 1-0-1 last weekend.  The Coyotes played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Cal State Los Angeles and then defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 4-0.  Jonathan Garcia leads CSUSB with his 11 points (two goals, seven assists) while Gerardo Flores has a team high five goals.  Jacob Huber has posted a 0.56 goals against average in goal with 28 saves.  CSUSB leads the all-time series with HSU 9-3 including winning 3-0 in Arcata last season.

 UP NEXT:  Humboldt State will return home for its final three matches of the regular season beginning on Saturday, November 2.  HSU will host San Francisco State at 2pm on November 2.
