SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--- Lenox Loving recorded 13 kills and had a .345 hitting percentage in the Lumberjacks' three set loss at San Francisco State (19-25, 17-25, 11-25) this evening in a CCAA match.
Juliana Bertolucci added 13 assists and
Odelia Ryan added 16 digs for the visitors.
FIRST SET: The first set went back and forth until Humboldt State built a 8-5 lead on three consecutive kilsl by
Lenox Loving. San Francisco State came right back and took a. 14-12 lead on a block by Bailey Johnson. The Gators finished the set off scoring 11 of the final 18 points to take the set 25-12.
SECOND SET: San Francisco State (15-8, 9-6 CCAA) took a 5-2 lead in the second set, but the Lumberjacks tied the match at 6-6 on a kill by
Emma Flewell . Sf State took a 12-8 lead on a service ace by Taylor Garcia. A kill by
Lexi Riggs cut SFSU's lead to 14-12. The Gators took a 21-14 lead on a kill by Trinity Barr. The hosts finished the set off taking 11 of the final 17 points take the set 25-17 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
THIRD SET: After the break, Sf State took a. 6-1 lead in the third set. A kill by Danielle Ryan increased the Gators' lead to 14-2. A kill by
Malia Coyle cut HSU's deficit to 21-7, but the Gators took four of the final eight points to take the set 25-12 and the match 3-0.
LUMBERJACK LEADERS: Humboldt State (5-16, 1-14 CCAA) was led by
Lenox Loving's 13 kills.
Summer Hansen had two blocks while
Juliana Bertolucci had 15 assists and
Riley Tishlarich added 13.
Odelia Ryan had a team high 16 digs.
UP NEXT: HSU will travel to Hayward, Calif., for a 5pm match on Saturday, November 9 when the Lumberjacks face Cal State East Bay. The Pioneers lost in five sets at Sonoma State this evening.
