ARCATA, Calif. — The Humboldt State softball team will travel to Southern California for a Friday tripleheader versus UC San Diego Friday at the Triton Softball Field. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 10 a.m.
The Jacks enter the week after suffering a three-game sweep versus San Francisco State in last Friday's tripleheader. The result moves HSU to 3-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
Sophomore second baseman Danica Grier continues to deliver at the plate, hitting a team-best .371 with 13 hits and six RBI. UC San Diego has won its last nine games and owns a 13-2 overall record and the Tritons' 11-1 conference mark has them sitting atop the CCAA standings. The Tritons are led by Clarissa Reynoso who is hitting .364 with 12 hits, seven RBI and five runs scored. Robyn Wampler is San Diego's top pitcher posting an unblemished 8-0 record with a 0.89 era, 39 strikeouts, and two saves in 55.1 innings pitched.
