Softball Adds Pitcher Emily Grimbleby for 2020 Campaign

| By:
ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State softball announced the signing of junior college pitcher Emily Grimbleby. The Prather, Calif., native will wear the Green and Gold this upcoming season.

"We are very pleased to welcome Emily to our Lumberjack family," said HSU Head Coach Shelli Sarchett. "We are looking forward to the impact she will have for us on the mound. She brings the experience we need, and she knows how to win and make things happen."

A two-year standout at Reedley College, Grimbleby baffled opposing hitters and struck out 211 in 214.2 innings this spring. The right-hander finished an impressive 2018 campaign with a 25-10 record and a 2.15 ERA in 37 appearances with the Lady Tigers. The sophomore's dominant pitching helped lead Reedley deep into the postseason and a California Community College Athletic Association NorCal Super Regional berth. Grimbleby ended the season ranked fourth in the state in strikeouts, and she tossed three no-hitters including a seven-inning, 11-strikeout performance March 21 versus Merced.

Grimbleby collected all-conference honors in both seasons with the Lady Tigers and was a First Team All-League award winner and MVP at Sierra High School.
