ARCATA, Calif.--- Humboldt State Lumberjacks had their three-match winning streak snapped in a four-set loss to the visiting Cal Poly Pomona Broncos this evening at Lumberjack Arena. Lexi RIggs had 13 kills and 11 digs while
Lenox Loving added 13 kills and 12 digs.
Summer Hansen added 11 kills for the 'Jacks who will end their three-match home stand this Saturday, September 21 at 7pm hosting No. 1 Cal State San Bernardino.

FIRST SET: Humboldt State took a 4-0 lead in the first set keyed by three kills by
Summer Hansen,
Emma Flewell and
Lexi Riggs. Cal Poly Pomona (3-5, 1-0 CCAA) cut the deficit to 10-0 on a kill by Jazmin Parrish. HSU increased its lead to 18-14 on a kill by
Emma Flewell. A hitting error by the hosts cut the 'Jacks lead to 21-18, but CPP tied the match at 24-24 on another kill by Parrish. HSU took the first set, 26-24, as the 'Jacks closed the first set taking the final three points keyed by back to back kills by Hansen.
SET TWO: The second set was even until a hitting error by the hosts gave the Broncos a 11-9 lead. A kill by Hansen and a hitting error by the Broncos gave HSU a 14-12 lead. Cal Poly Pomona took a 22-19 lead on a combined block by Daisy Duke and Jane Woodward. The Broncos took three of the final five points to take the set 25-21 and even the match at 1-1
SET THREE: Back to back hitting errors by Cal Poly Pomona gave the hosts a 6-2 lead in the third set. The 'Jacks held on to a 17-13 lead on a
Riley Tishlarich ace, but CPP came right back and tied the match at 20-20 on a kill by Kaitlin Tucker. The Broncos increased their lead to 25-22 on a service ace by Parrish. A kill by
Lenox Loving gave HSU a 25-24 lead, but CPP scored the final three points to take the set 27-25 and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
SET FOUR: Cal Poly Pomona jumped out to an 8-3 lead on a kill by Parish. The visitors increased their lead to 17-8 on a service ace by Dionne Zhao. A hitting error by Cal Poly Pomona cut HSU's deficit to 19-11, but CPP took a 22-12 lead on a kill by Ally Wilder. Cal Poly Pomona took the set and match as the Broncos took three of the final points capped by one of Parrish's game high 19 kills, 25-14 and 3-1.
LUMBERJACK LEADERS: Lexi Riggs and
Lenox Loving each had 13 kills followed by
Summer Hansen's 11 kills. Riley Tishlarish's 32 assists led HSU while
Odelia Ryan had
28 assists and Loving added 12 and Riggs' 11.
UP NEXT: Humboldt State (5-4, 1-1 CCAA) will host Cal State San Bernardino this Saturday, September 21 at 7pm. The Coyotes, who are No. 1 in the AVCA/NCAA Division II National Rankings, defeated Sonoma State this evening in Rohnert Park, Calif., in four sets (25-13, 25-17, 17-25, 25-23) to improve to 8-0, 1-0 CCAA.
