ARCATA, Calif..--- Humboldt State will continue its season beginning eleven-game road trip this weekend with a four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series in Seaside, Calif., against Cal State Monterey Bay. The series will begin with a 4pm starting doubleheader on Friday, February 14 and will end with an 11am starting doubleheader on Saturday, February 15.
LAST WEEK: Humboldt State split its season opening conference series at Cal State San Marcos. The Lumberjacks started their conference season going 2-2 in their four-game series with the Cougars. On Friday, HSU lost the opener 8-0 in six innings but came back to win the night cap. 12-9 Then on Saturday, the 'Jacks won the opener 8-4 and lost the night cap 6-2.
For the weekend, the Lumberjacks batted .268 as a team with three players hitting over .300 in
Lauren Lipe (.455), Michaela Harris (.385) and
Mariah Kalamaras (.364). Kalamaras paced the 'Jacks with four runs batted in while Lipe scored a team leading five runs. Lipe also had three stolen bases and
Micaela Harris added two.

Megan Holt and Lexee Sheering combined to strike out 14 batters with Holt's five leading the way. Holt and Sheering picked up the victories for the 'Jacks.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: HSU is now 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the CCAA. The 'Jacks are batting .320 as a team with
Lauren Lipe's .471 batting average and
Haley Suter's .444 average leading the way. Lipe has a team high .591 on-base percentage while Suter has posted a team leading .833 slugging percentage.
As a team, the 'Jacks have hit five home runs with Suter's two leading the way. HSU has scored 49 runs with Lipe's eight leading the way. The Lumberjacks have driven in a team high 42 runs paced by Suter's ten. They also have stolen 12 bases in 15 attempts with
Micaela Harris' five leading the way

Megan Holt's six.
UPDATE ON THE OTTERS: Cal State Monterey Bay is 4-4 after going 0-4 this past weekend in its CCAA opening series at No. 20 Chico State. The Otters lost 1-0, 4-0, 4-3 and 9-0 this past weekend in Chico. They are hitting .249 as a team paced by Michaela Decker's .444 average and Alyssa Burt's .440 average. Burt leads CSUMB with her 11 hits and three doubles. She also has hit one of the Otters' two home runs with Kassidy Pilpil has the other one. Burt has driven in a team leading seven runs. Cassie Gapser and Hayley Fein each are 2-2 in the circle. Gapser also leads CSUMB with her 32 strikeouts.
UP NEXT: Humboldt State will have its home opening four-game series on Feb. 21-22 against No. 20 Chico State. Friday's doubleheader will start noon with Saturday's starting at 11am.
