ARCATA, Calif..--- Humboldt State will host Chico State in its 2019-20 regular season home finale this Thursday, February 27. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm at Lumberjack Arena. Prior to tip-off, HSU will recognize its five seniors in
Gabrielle Carbajal,
Molly Dixon,
Madeline Hatch,
Alexia Thrower and
Tyra Turner. Besides being Senior Night on Thursday, it will also be Think Pink Night as fans are encouraged to wear pink.
RECAP OF HSU'S LAST GAME: Humboldt State lost to Stanislaus State this past Saturday evening in Turlock, 65-63 despite
Alexia Thrower and
Sandin Kidder's double-doubles. Thrower had 29 points and 11 rebounds while Kidder had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Tyra Turner recorded four steals to go with her six assists and four rebounds.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: Humboldt State is 15-11 overall and 11-10 in the CCAA after winning six of its last ten games including four of the last five games. The 'Jacks are averaging 70.1 points per game while giving up 65.1 points per game. They are being out-rebounded 37.1 to 32.1.
Four players are averaging double digits in scoring in
Alexia Thrower (22.4 ppg),
Tyra Turner (10.7 ppg),
Molly Dixon (10.5 ppg) and
Gabrielle Carbajal (10.3 ppg).
Madeline Hatch is right behind Carbajal at 9.0 points per game. Thrower leads the team with her 9.5 rebounding average, 12 blocked shots and 54% shooting from the field. Turner has a team high 120 assists with a team leading 54 steals while shooting a team high 81% from the line. Hatch and Dixon are tied for the team lead with 48 treys and each going 34.8% shooting from threes.
MOVIN' ON UP: The Humboldt State Lumberjack trio of

Tyra Turner and
Madeline Hatch are moving up on six all-time career lists in Humboldt State women's basketball. Turner is now seventh in points, second in assists and third in steals. Thrower is ninth in points while Hatch is fifth in three-point field goals made.
Heading into the final game of the regular season this Thursday, Turner has dished out 505 assists in her career at Humboldt State. She is six assists from passing Trina Dukes (1991-95) as the Lumberjacks' all-time assists leader. She is also third with 238 steals while Dukes holds that record with 311. The senior guard also has scored 1138 points in her career which places her seventh, nine from moving past Sheryl Fairchild (1986-90) into sixth place.
Thrower has scored 1062 points in just two years in the Green and Gold which places her eighth on HSU's points list. She is 20 points from moving past Dukes into eighth place. Hatch has made 144 treys in her career at Humboldt State, which places her fifth.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Four Lumberjacks have recorded double-doubles this season in
Alexia Thrower,
Tyra Turner,
Sandin Kidder and
Gabrielle Carbajal. Thrower has ten double-doubles while Kidder has two and Carbajal and Turner each have one.
11.5: Humboldt State is just turning the ball over 11.5 times per game while forcing 16.2 turnovers per game by its opponents. The Lumberjacks are recording 7.5 steals per game paced by
Tyra Turner's 54 followed by
Alexia Thrower's 40.
Gabrielle Carbajal has 27 steals followed by
Molly Dixon at 26 and
Madeline Hatch at 22.

Gabrielle Carbajal has 71 assists with just 34 turnovers. In HSU's win over CSUSB on February 8, the 'Jacks dished out 26 assists on 42 field goals made including
Gabrielle Carbajal's nine and
Tyra Turner's seven.
UPDATE ON THE WILDCATS: Chico State enters Thursday's game with a 16-10 overall record and a 12-8 CCAA record. The Wildcats have won five of their last seven games including the last four in a row. They are in a tie for fourth place with Cal State East Bay, one game out of third place (Cal Poly Pomona).
Chico State is averaging 64.9 points per game while giving up 62.5 points per game. The Wildcats are out-rebounding their opponents 39.3 to 35.0. Maddy Wong leads the way with her 12.2 scoring average, 81 treys and 40% shooting from beyond the arc. Hannah Washington leads Chico State with her 5.7 rebounding average and 46% shooting from the field. She is tied with Mikalla Wegenke each with 15 blocked shots. Washington also leads the team with her 43 steals while Myli Martinez is shooting a team high 80% from the line.
The Wildcats won the first meeting back in December in Chico 60-51 despite
Alexia Thrower's 30 points and 17 rebounds. Brynn Thomming paced Chico State with 14 points.

HEADING TO THE POST-SEASON: Humboldt State will be heading to the CCAA Basketball Championships next week for the fifth time in the past six years. The First Round of the CCAA Basketball Championships will be on March 3 at the site of the four higher seeds. The semi-finals and finals will be on March 6-7 in La Jolla, Calif., at RIMAC Arena on the campus of UC San Diego.
