ARCATA, Calif---  With their 65-59 victory over the visiting Cal State Monterey Bay Otters this evening at Lumberjacks Arena, the Humboldt State Lumberjacks have started conference play 2-0 and improve to 3-3 on the season. 
Julia Iman recorded her second double-double of the season by scoring a season high 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds to lead the 'Jacks.  
Kaz Parks chipped in 14 points for HSU while 
Ashley Peralta added 10 points for the victors. 
 
FIRST QUARTER: Humboldt State (3-3, 2-0 CCAA) took a 6-1 lead in the first three minutes of the game.  The Otters outscored the 'Jacks 10-6 in the next four minutes to cut the HSU lead to 12-11 on a three by Tricia Delph. A three by 
Julia Iman off a pass from 
Ashley Peralta gave Humboldt State a 23-16 with 21 seconds left in the quarter, but a two by Frances Potts cut the HSU lead to 23-18 heading into the second quarter. 
 
 
SECOND QUARTER:  Cal Sate Monterey Bay (1-6, 0-3 ) cut Humboldt State's lead to 23-22 in the first three minutes of the second quarter.  HSU came right back and went on a 15-3 run capped by a 
Kaz Parks' three off a pass from 
Ashley Peralta to give the 'Jacks a 38-25 lead.  The Otters cut the Lumberjack lead to single digits (nine) on a jumper by Rayshanti McNeal Price, 39-29, heading into the half. 
 
THIRD QUARTER:  A Lauryn Pointer jumper cut the Lumberjack lead to just six (40-34), just three minutes into the new quarter.  Once again, the 'Jacks came back and went on a 6-0 run to take a 46-34 lead mid-way through the quarter.  A 
Citlaly Davalos' lay-up off another pass from 
Ashley Peralta increased the Lumberjacks' lead to 52-36 heading into the final ten-minute quarter.
 
FOURTH QUARTER:  The Lumberjacks kept their momentum going as they increased their lead to 60-40 on a jumper by 
Madison Parry off a pass from 
Jadence Clifton four minutes into the final period.  The Otters wouldn't go away as they cut the 'Jack lead to 62-54 on a jumper by Tricia Delph with less than two minutes left in regulation.  A three by 
Julia Iman off a pass from 
Kaz Parks with 90 seconds left increased the Lumberjack lead to 65-54.  Cal State Monterey cut HSU's lead to 65-59 but it was too late as HSU took the 65-59 CCAA home victory. 
 
SECOND DOUBLE-DOUBLE:  Julia Iman recorded her second double-double of the season with 24 points and 11 rebounds.  She went 11-for-19 from the field including going two-for-four from three's while dishing out six assists, recording two steals and blocking a shot in 38 minutes. 
 
22 ASSISTS:  Humboldt State had 22 assists on its' 27 made baskets this evening.  
Ashley Peralta and 
Julia Iman each had six assists while 
Madison Parry added four and 
Citlaly Davalos dished out four.  
Jadence Clifton had two and 
Kaz Parks had one.
 
DEFENSE: Humboldt State held the Otters to just 39% shooting from the field including 39% from three's.  The 'Jacks forced 18 turnovers including 10 by steals.  
Sharon Roldan had four steals and 
Citlaly Davalos and 
Julia Iman each had two. 
 
OWNED THE BOARDS:  HSU won the battle of the boards, 37-35, with 
Julia Iman leading the way with 11 rebounds.  
Sharon Roldan and 
Ashley Peralta each had six rebounds while 
Madison Parry had five. 
 
UP NEXT: HSU will begin a three-game road trip to end the 2021 calendar year a week from this evening in Turlock, Calif.  Humboldt State will travel to Turlock, Calif., to face Stanislaus State at 5;30pm on Saturday, December 11.
