OAKLAND, Calif.--- Despite four players scoring in double digits for the second straight game, the Humboldt State University Lumberjacks fell 93-89 to the Academy of Art University Urban Knights (3-7) this afternoon in Oakland, Calif. The two teams split the weekend series with Humboldt State winning 89-87 in double overtime on Friday.
AJ Sims paced the Lumberjacks with a game high 29 points while
Victor Mijas chipped in 16 points and
John Reitenbach added 12 points while
Amari Green scored 10 points.
This was the Lumberjacks' second game while the Urban Knights have played ten games this season. Academy of Art's Jalen Lovett paced the Urban Knights with 21 points. HSU won the rebounding battle 34-32 led by Sims' seven rebounds. The Lumberjacks shot 48.4% from the field with Mijas going five-for-ten all from beyond the arc.
Humboldt State's continues its seven-game road trip this Tuesday, March 2 at 1pm when the Lumberjacks face Dominican University (Calif.) in Oakland at Holy Names University's Bill Tobin Gymnasium.
