ARCATA, Calif.--- Five players scored in double digits to lead the Humboldt State Lumberjacks to an 84-60 CCAA home victory this evening at Lumberjack Arena. HSU was led by
Jaden Edwards' game high 22 points while
Cam Timmons recorded his first double-double as a 'Jack with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Amari Green added 15 points and 7 assists while
Austin Harris had 11 points and
Bryce Mitchell chipped in 10 points.
FIRST HALF: Humboldt State (8-4, 2-4 CCAA) scored the first 15 points of the game in the first to take a 15-0 lead. Wesley Gilbert's old-fashioned three-point play snapped the Lumberjacks' run six minutes into the game. A three by
Bryce Mitchell off a pass from
Keshawn Hall increased the Lumberjacks' lead to 23-6 with 12 minutes left in the half. HSU increased its lead to 29 twice in the final three minutes including on a three by
Amari Green to give the hosts a 52-33 lead heading into the half.
SECOND HALF: Sonoma State (2-10, 2-4 CCAA) cut the 'Jack lead to 52-30 on a jumper by Wesley Gilbert in the first two minutes of the new stanza. Two free throws by
Austin Harris gave the hosts a 66-36 lead with 12 minutes left in the game. With 5:48 to go in the game, Humboldt State took its largest lead, 79-46, on two free throws by
Jaden Edwards and cruised to the 84-60 victory.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Cam Timmons recorded his first double-double in the Green and Gold with 18 points and a season high 10 rebounds for the 'Jacks. He went eight-for-nine from the field and two-for-two from the line. Timmons also had an assist and a blocked shot in 27 minutes.
THIRD GAME OF 20 OR MORE: Jaden Edwards scored a game high 20 points to lead HSU in 30 minutes. He went 10-for-14 from the field while grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out two assists and recording a steal. This was Edwards' third game of scoring 20 points or more.
SEASON HIGHS: Amari Green and
Austin Harris recorded season highs this evening. Green scored a season high 15 points and dished out a career high seven assists while recording a career high three steals in 35 minutes. Harris scored a career high 11 points for the 'Jacks.
22 ON 35: Humboldt State had 22 assists on its 35 made field goals this evening.
Amari Green led the way with seven while

Bryce Mitchell and
Keshawn Hall each had three.
Thomas Melonja and
Jaden Edwards each dished out two assists.
PERFECT FROM THE LINE: HSU went eight-for-eight from the line this evening.

51.9%: The 'Jacks shot 51.9% from the field including 63.9% in the first half while holding the Seawolves to just 33% including 17% in the first half.
41-28: HSU also controlled the boards with 41 rebounds to Sonoma State's 28.
Cam Timmons had 10 rebounds while
Amari Green had eight and
Jaden Edwards grabbed seven.
Andrew Mork grabbed five rebounds and
Keshawn Hall had four.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Humboldt State will be back on the road with two CCAA games in Southern California. The 'Jacks will face No. 11 Cal State San Marcos this Thursday, January 6 in San Marcos and Cal State Los Angeles this Saturday, January 8. Thursday's tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm while Saturday's is scheduled for 3pm. HSU will return home on January 13, when the 'Jacks host No. 6 Cal State San Bernardino.
