ARCATA, Calif--- Humboldt Lumberjacks will return home this weekend to entertain the Chico State Wildcats and Stanislaus State Warriors in a pair of CCAA contests at Lumberjack Arena. The 'Jacks will host Chico State this Thursday, January 27 at 5:30pm. This Saturday, January 29, Humboldt will entertain the Stanislaus State Warriors with tip-off scheduled for 5:30pm.
COACHING STAFF: The 'Jacks are coached by sixth-year head coach
Michelle Bento-Jackson. Coach Bento-Jackson is 220-197 in her sixteen years as a head coach. During those 16 years, she also has had four losing seasons including just one at Humboldt State. Prior to being the head coach at HSU, Bento-Jackson was the head coach at Santa Clara and Texas A&M-International. She is assisted by Humboldt State Alum and former Lumberjack men's basketball player Guillermo Blas.
LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The 'Jacks went 0-2 this weekend on the road in the CCAA. They lost 76-55 at Cal State East Bay on Friday.
Julia Iman paced the 'Jacks with 17 points while
Madison Parry scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. On Saturday, Humboldt lost 70-60 despite Parry's team high 19 points.
Jadence Clifton had a career night with 14 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Iman chipped in 11 points for the 'Jacks.
UPDATE ON THE 'JACKS: Humboldt enters this weekend's home games with a 4-9 overall record including a 3-6 CCAA record. The 'Jacks are averaging 62.6 points per game while giving up 65.9 points per game. They are being out-rebounded 40.5 to 37.1. Three players are averaging double digits in
Madison Parry (15.2 points per game),
Julia Iman (14.9 points per game) and
Kaz Parks (10.9 points per game). Iman leads the team with her 23 steals, 40 assists, 9.4 rebounding average and 45.3% shooting from the field. Parry is tied with Iman for the team lead in blocked shots each with nine. She is leading the team with her 75% shooting from the charity stripe. Parks has made a team leading 31 three-point field goals and connected on a team high 31.6% of her attempts from beyond the arc.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Three Lumberjacks have recorded double-doubles this season in
Julia Iman,
Madison Parry and
Sharon Roldan. Iman has five double-doubles including one in each of the Lumberjacks' last four games. Parry has three double-doubles and Roldan one.
OVERTIME GAMES: Humboldt State is 1-1 in overtime games this year. The 'Jacks defeated Chico State 105-96 in Chico on Dec. 18, 2021 in triple overtime. They then lost 89-80 in double overtime on Jan. 15, 2022.
CCAA/NCAA RANKINGS: In the recent CCAA statistics report, the "jacks are in the top five in the conference in three team categories. They are fourth in assists per game (13.9), assist/turnover ratio (+0.83) and three-point field goals made per game (7.4).

Iman is second in rebounding (9.4), fifth in scoring (14.9), fifth in field goal percentage (45.3%), sixth in assist/turnover ratio (+0.9), seventh in assists per game (3.1) and ninth in blocked shots per game (0.7). Parry is fourth in scoring (15.2), fifth in rebounding (8.1), eighth in field goal percentage (41.2%), eighth in free throw percentage (75%) and tenth in blocked shots per game (0.7). Parks is fourth in three-point field goals made per game (2.60 and sixth in three-point field goal percentage (31.6%). Peralta is tenth in assists per game (2.8).

th in rebounding average.
REGION MATCH-UP: All four non-conference games for the 'Jacks were against NCAA Division II West Region opponents which are very important for rankings. HSU lost its first two games of the season against two Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents in Western Washington (68-56) and Seattle Pacific (54-52) in Seattle, Wash. The 'Jacks went 1-1 against Dominican, who is a member of the PacWest Conference. They lost 72-70 in San Rafael to the Penguins and defeated them 66-49 in Arcata. The CCAA, GNAC and PacWest Conferences are all members of the NCAA Division II West Region.
CCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN LUMBERJACK ARENA: Humboldt State will host the 2021-22 CCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, March 3-5 at Lumberjack Arena. The top six teams will receive a berth to the CCAA Championships. March 3 will be the quarterfinal round with the top two seeds receiving a bye. The semi-final round games are set for March 4 with the championship game set for March 5. The winner of the CCAA Championships will receive the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championships.
CHICO STATE: The Wildcats enter Thursday's game with a 7-4 overall record and a 4-4 CCAA mark. They defeated SF State (63-58) and Cal State Monterey Bay (63-49) on the road this past weekend and are 3-2 in their last five games. Chico is averaging 68.8 points per game while giving up 64.8 points per game. The Wildcats are being out-rebounded 42.6 to 38.5. Three players are averaging double digits in scoring in Charity Gallegos (13.0 points per game), Bailey Jones (11.8 points per game) and Myli Martinez (10.5 points per game). Gallegos leads Chico with her 28 steals, 64 assists, 91.3% free throw percentage and 44.2% field goal percentage. Jones has made a team high 34 three-point field goals while Morgan Mathis is shooting a team high 38.5% from beyond the arc. Makenzie LaPorte leads Chico with her 7.1 rebounding average.
ALL-TIME SERIES (HUMBOLDT vs. CHICO): Chico State leads the all-time series with the 'Jacks 72-26. The two teams have split their last ten meetings.

They had their ten-game winning streak snapped in a 67-58 loss at Chico State on January 2. Stanislaus State went 1-1 last weekend with a 60-50 win at Cal State Monterey Bay and a 69-54 loss at SF State. The Warriors are averaging 62.1 points per game while giving up 57.6 points per game. They are being out-rebounded 41.6 to 40.9. Five players are averaging double digits in scoring in Kyanna Davis (20.1), Da'Myiah Lewis (13.4), Taylor Pilot (10.7), Liliana Marques (10.5) and Kaleigh Taylor (10.3). Lewis leads the team with her 46.6% shooting from the field, 77.5% shooting from the line and 36 steals. Davis has dished out a team leading 28 assists while averaging a team high 8.4 rebounds per game. She also leads the team with her 25 three-point field goals made and 33% shooting from the beyond the arc.
