ARCATA, Calif—Three Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks recorded double-doubles this evening to lead the 'Jacks to a 61-45 win over the visiting Stanislaus State Warriors.
Madison Parry recorded her fifth double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Citlaly Davalos and
Jadence Clifton each recorded their first double-doubles. Davalos scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Clifton had 14 points and 10 assists. Humboldt finished the weekend 2-0 to improve to 6-9 overall and 5-6 in the CCAA.
FIRST QUARTER: Cal Poly Humboldt (6-9, 5-6 CCAA) jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. The 'Jacks increased their lead to 16-4 on a jumper by
Madison Parry off a pass from
Jadence Clifton with two minutes left in the first quarter. A three by Mikeala Arista cut the 'Jack lead to 16-7, but a Parry lay-up off another pass from Clifton gave Humboldt a 18-7 lead heading into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: A trey by
Madison Parry off another assist from
Jadence Clifton increased the hosts' lead to 21-7 to begin the second quarter. A three by Liliana Marques capped a 13-5 run by Stanislaus State (11-4, 6-3 CCAA) to cut the 'Jack lead to 26-20 with three minutes left in the half. The 'Jacks scored the final four points of the half, all four on free throws by Clifton to give Humboldt a 30-20 heading into the locker room.
THIRD QUARTER: The hosts increased to 41-23 on a lay-up by
Jadence Clifton on a pass from
Ashley Peralta mid-way through the quarter. This was the Lumberjacks' largest lead of the game. The guests wouldn't go away as they cut the 'Jack lead to 43-34 on a jumper by Amaya McLeod with one minute to go in the third frame. A three by
Citlaly Davalos off a pass from
Sharon Roldan gave Humboldt a 46-34 lead heading into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Stanislaus State started the first five minutes of the final quarter outscoring Humboldt 10-5 to cut its deficit to 51-44. The 'Jacks went on an 8-0 run in the next two minutes to increase their lead to 15 (59-44) capped by a three by
Ashley Peralta off a pass from
Citlaly Davalos. A free throw by Taylor Pilot cut the 'Jack lead to 59-45 with just 34 seconds left in regulation. Humboldt sealed the 61-45 win on two free throws by Peralta.
A TRIO OF DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Three Lumberjacks had double-doubles this evening.

Jadence Clifton each recorded their first in a 'Jack uniform. Davalos recorded career highs with her 17 points and 12 rebounds. Clifton scored 14 points and dished out a career high 10 assists with just four turnovers in 40 minutes for the 'Jacks.
2-0 THIS WEEKEND: Humboldt went 2-0 this weekend to improve to 5-2 at home and 6-9 overall and 5-6 in the CCAA. The 'Jacks started the weekend with a 69-58 win over Chico State on Thursday and finished with a 61-45 win over Stanislaus State this evening.
RIGHT BACK INTO THE RACE: Cal Poly Humboldt is tied for seventh place with Sonoma State in the CCAA standings each with a 5-6 conference record. The 'Jacks are just a half-game out of sixth place which is held by Chico State (5-5). The top six teams at the end of the regular season will receive a bid to the CCAA Basketball Championships, March 3-5, which will be held in Lumberjack Arena. The top five teams are Cal State East Bay (10-0), Cal State San Marcos (11-1), Stanislaus State (6-3), Cal State Dominguez Hills (7-4) and Cal State Los Angeles (6-5).
18 ON 21: Of the Lumberjacks' 21 made field goals this evening, 18 came off of assists.
Jadence Clifton had a game high ten assists to lead the way for the 'Jacks.
Ashley Peralta had three while
Kaz Parks and
Citlaly Davalos each had two and
Sharon Roldan dished out one.
UP NEXT: The 'Jacks will return to the road for a pair of CCAA games this coming week. They will be in Seaside, Calif., on Thursday, February 3 for a 5:30pm scheduled game with Cal State Monterey Bay. Humboldt will finish out its road trip on Saturday, February 5 in San Francisco for a 1pm scheduled game with SF State.
