ARCATA, Calif.--- Ramiro Rosas scored two goals and Adrian Gallardo recorded a season high seven saves, but a late goal with two minutes remaining forced the Jacks to settle for a 2-2 draw with longtime rival Chico State at College Creek Field on Thursday afternoon. Devin Hauenstein, Dylan Tovani, Juan Perez, Edgar Gonzalez, Jordan Bruton and Landon Leal Ruiz also recorded shot attempts on the day for Humboldt.
Statistically, The 'Cats outshot the Jacks 17-13, while Humboldt carried an advantage in corner kicks, 10-8. The Jacks also out-fouled Chico 13-7 and drew two yellow cards to the Wildcats' one.
The 2-2 result is the second tie against Chico State this year, mirroring the 0-0 result from Sept. 17. Both draws mark the first time since 2007 that the Jacks have been unbeaten against their rivals from Chico.
Humboldt finishes its season with an overall record of 3-7-8 and 2-5-4 in conference play, good enough for 10 points and a ninth place finish in the CCAA regular season standings.
