Four Lumberjacks Earn CCAA Honors

ARCATA, Calif. -- On Wednesday afternoon, four members of the Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team were awarded CCAA honors.
Dylan Tovani was named to the All-CCAA First Team,
Juan Perez was named to the All-CCAA Second Team, while
Adrian Gallardo and
Motoki Sato were listed as CCAA Honorable Mentions.
"We are so proud of these four guys and how well they have represented our program this year," stated Head Coach
Fred Jungemann. "It is such a positive reflection of their effort and consistent performances. I can't say enough about the positive impact they have had on our program this season, and being recognized by the CCAA coaches show just how much of an impact they have had on the conference as well."
A fifth year senior defender from Oakley, Calif.,
Dylan Tovani, was named to the All-CCAA First Team. Tovani started all 18 matches for the Lumberjacks this season and tallied 1,444 minutes on the pitch. His team-high six assists put him ranked at the second most assists across the conference. Tovani also recorded three goals and 23 shots on the offensive side of the ball, while his defense was a staple in the Jacks' back line this season. Tovani was an All-CCAA Second Team selection last season.
The senior forward from Vallejo, Calif.,
Juan Perez, earned his spot as a member of the All-CCAA Second Team. Perez started 16 matches for the Jacks and was a force on the attack this season. He led the team in scoring with eight goals, led the team with 32 shots (14 of which were a team high for shots on goal), and had a team-high 19 points to go along with two game winners. Perez's eight goals and 19 points ranked him second in the conference for those categories, while his two game-winners against Stanislaus State and Cal State Monterey Bay put him tied for the fifth most in the CCAA.
The Jacks' sophomore goalkeeper from Hesperia, Calif.,
Adrian Gallardo, was listed as a CCAA Honorable Mention. Gallardo started 17 games in goal and played a total of 1,482 minutes for the Lumberjacks this season. He recorded 75 saves, which ranked third among the CCAA goalkeepers. He also posted five clean sheets, ranking him at sixth in the conference.
A senior midfielder from Honolulu,
Motoki Sato, earned a nod for CCAA Honorable Mention. Sato played his fifth year in a Lumberjacks uniform this season and started all 18 matches, playing a total of 1438 minutes on the pitch. He had a solid season on both sides of the ball and his role was crucial to the team's chemistry on the pitch. Sato's two assists contributed to the team's ranking of fourth most across the conference. He also tallied 11 shots this season.
