ARCATA, Calif--- After going 0-2 on their road trip this weekend, the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks return home to Lumberjack Arena to host Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State East Bay in a pair of CCAA games. The 'Jacks will entertain the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros this Thursday, February 10 at 7:30pm. Humboldt will host Cal State East Bay this Saturday, February 12 at 7:3pm. COACHING STAFF: The 'Jacks are coached by second-year head coach
Tae Norwood. Coach Norwood has a .627 winning percentage during his three years as a head coach. Norwood led the 'Jacks to a 4-5 record during the pandemic season. He came to Humboldt State from Florida, where he guided Keiser University to a 23-7 record during the 2019-20 season including a share of the conference regular season title. Keiser also appeared in the NAIA Tournament.

RECAP OF THE LUMBERJACKS' LAST GAMES: The 'Jacks started the weekend with an 86-65 loss at Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday.
Jaden Edwards had 14 points and
Austin Harris chipped in a season high 12 points. Humboldt finished the weekend with a 77-62 loss at SF State on Saturday. Edwards had 13 points to lead the 'Jacks while
Bryce Mitchell posted his first double-double with 10 points and career high 11 rebounds.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: Cal Poly Humboldt is 10-10 overall and 4-10 in the CCAA after going 0-2 this past weekend. The 'Jacks are averaging 67.8 points per game while giving up 70.3 points per game. They are out-rebounding their opponents 37.2 to 34.9.
Jaden Edwards leads the team with his 15.9 scoring and 9.4 rebounding averages along with his 23 steals.
Cam Timmons is shooting a team high 53.4% from the field while blocking a team leading 15 shots.
AJ Sims leads the 'Jacks with his 80% shooting from the charity stripe, 29 three-point field goals made while Edwards leads Humboldt with his 36.4% shooting from three-point range.
STILL ALIVE FOR THE CCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS: Heading into the final six games of the regular season, Cal Poly Humboldt is still alive for the CCAA Basketball Championships March 3-5. The championships will be hosted by Humboldt in Lumberjack Arena. The 'Jacks are just three game out of the sixth and final spot. Humboldt is in eleventh place with its 4-10 CCAA record. The top six teams heading into this week's games are 1.) Cal State San Bernardino (11-2), 2.) Cal State San Marcos (10-3); 2.) Chico State (10-3); 2.) Cal State Monterey Bay (10-3); 5.) Cal State Dominguez Hills (6-5); and 6.) San Francisco State (7-7).
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: In his first season as a 'Jack,
Jaden Edwards has recorded nine double-doubles this season. Edwards' first two came in HSU's first two games versus Western Washington (16 points/14 rebounds) and Simon Fraser (15 points/10 rebounds). On Dec. 2 and Dec. 4, Edwards had an 11 points/11 rebound performance against SF State and a 19 points/12 rebounds effort against CSU Monterey Bay. Edwards' fourth double-double came on December 9 against Simpson in which he scored 41 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He then scored 13 points and grabbed 17 rebounds at Stanislaus State (Dec. 11). Edwards' last two double-doubles came on January 20 and 22 at Cal State East Bay (17 points, 11 rebounds) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (13 points, 12 rebounds). Edwards recorded his ninth double-double on January 27 with an 11-point, 10-rebound performance against Chico State.
Cam Timmons recorded his first double-double on January 2 with an 18-point, 10-rebound performance against Sonoma State.
Bryce Mitchell posted his first double-double on February 5 at SF State with a 10-point, 11-rebound performance.
CCAA/NCAA RANKINGS: In the latest CCAA team statistical rankings, the 'Jacks are fifth in rebounding margin. Two 'Jacks are in the top ten in four categories.
Jaden Edwards is second in rebounding, fourth in field goal percentage and scoring.
6-0 NON-CONFERENCE (4-0 AGAINST NON-CONFERENCE NCAA DII WEST REGION FOES): Four of HSU's six non-conference games were all NCAA Division II West Region games. HSU started the season with two important wins over Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents in Western Washington (70-69) and Simon Fraser (63-59) in Carson, California. The 'Jacks also defeated Western Oregon, 75-67, from the GNAC and Dominican, 74-68, from the PacWest Conference. HSU's other non-conference victories were an 81-78 over Lincoln and an 85-68 win over Simpson. The CCAA, GNAC and PacWest Conferences are all members of the NCAA Division II West Region.
CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS: The Toros are 9-8 overall and 6-5 in the CCAA. They are averaging 69.5 points per game while giving up 70.5 points per game. CSUDH is being out-rebounded 37.7 to 37.3. Two players are averaging double digits in scoring in Colten Kresl (15.3 ppg) and Chris Seeley (14.0 ppg). Seeley leads the team with his 7.3 rebounding average. Kresl leads CSUDH with his 82.4% shooting from the line, 48 three-point field goals made, 36.4% shooting from beyond the arc and 48 assists. Jordan Hilstock has recorded a team leading 24 steals.
ALL-TIME SERIES (Humboldt vs. CSUDH): Humboldt leads the all-time series with the Toros 17-11 including the 'Jacks defeating CSUDH 66-45 on January 22 in Carson. The 'Jacks have won four of the last six meetings between the two teams.
LAST TIME: Humboldt defeated the Toros 66-45 in Carson on January 22. CSUDH shot 25% from the field including 16% from three-point range.

CAL STATE EAST BAY: Entering their game on Thursday night at Sonoma State, the Pioneers are 6-12 overall and 4-8 in the CCAA. They are averaging 72.3 points per game while giving up 76.1 points per game. East Bay is being out-rebounded 37.6 to 34.8. Zafir Williams leads the team with his 14.6 scoring average, 6.3 rebounding average, nine blocked shot and 88.1% shooting from the line. Kaito Williams is also averaging double digits in scoring with his 10.4 scoring average. DJ Sanders leads the team with his 54% shooting from the field and 40 assists. Williams has made a team high 34 three-point field goals and recorded a team high 22 steals while shooting a team best 42.5% from three-point range.
ALL-TIME SERIES (Humboldt vs. Cal State East Bay): Humboldt leads the all-time series with the Pioneers 14-6 including defeating them 67-63 in Hayward on January 20. The 'Jacks have won eight of the last 11 meetings between the two teams.

CCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN LUMBERJACK ARENA: Humboldt State will host the 2021-22 CCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, March 3-5 at Lumberjack Arena. The top six teams will receive a berth to the CCAA Championships. March 3 will be the quarterfinal round with the top two seeds receiving a bye. The semi-final round games are set for March 4 with the championship game set for March 5. The winner of the CCAA Championships will receive the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championships.
