ROWING & TRACK/FIELD HOSTING ANNUAL EVENTS THIS SATURDAY
Cal Poly Humboldt women's rowing along with the Lumberjack men's and women's track and field teams will be hosting events this Saturday, March 26.  The Jack women's rowing team along with their men's club rowing team will be hosting the Cal Poly Humboldt Regatta at 8am on Saturday at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center.  Humboldt men's and women's track and field teams will be hosting the Humboldt Invitational on Saturday at 9am at the Redwood Bowl on Cal Poly Humboldt's campus.
  
JACKS RECORD 18 TOP FIVE PERFORMANCES AT OSU PNW INVITATIONAL
Eighteen members of the Cal Poly Humboldt men's and women's track and field teams placed in the top five in the OSU PNW Invitational on Saturday in Corvallis, Oregon. Three Jacks finished in second place in four events.  Jared Del Real had second place throws in the shot put and discus.  Julian Jensen finished in second in the 800 while Jaxon Leduc had a second-place time in the 1500-meter run.  Also highlighting the OSU PNW Invitational for the Jacks was Joy Hano who moved into sixth place on Humboldt's all-time top ten list in the 100-meter hurdles.  She had a third-place time of 14.90.
 
HUMBOLDT'S VARSITY 8+ NAMED GNAC WOMEN'S ROWING CREW OF THE WEEK

As announced by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Cal Poly Humboldt varsity 8+ was named the GNAC Women's Rowing Crew of the Week.  The Jacks won the Aggie Invitational and placed third at the Sacramento State Invitational during their opening regattas on March 12-13 in Sacramento.  Humboldt is eighth in the nation according to the Pocock/CRCA Division II Poll that was released last week.
 
SOFTBALL 6-12 IN THE CCAA
Entering their doubleheader on Monday, March 21, Cal Poly Humboldt's softball team is 11-17 overall and  6-12 in the CCAA.  As a team, the Jacks are batting .293 with four players hitting over .300 in JoAna Mullins (.419), Micaela Harris (.398), Izzy Starr (.362) and Vanessa Saltos (.316).  Harris leads Humboldt with her 37 hits, 33 runs scored, six triples, four stolen bases and .467 on-base percentage.  Saltos has hit a team leading nine home runs and has posted a team leading .767 slugging percentage.  Starr leads Humboldt with her 28 runs batted in and is tied with Alyssa Ramirez and JoAna Mulls each with seven doubles. Over in the circle, Karen Di Dio has a team leading six victories and 38 strikeouts.
 
36th ANNUAL CELEBRITY DINNER & SPORTS AUCTION IN 20 DAYS

Earlier that day, there will be a soccer clinic put on by Christie Pearce Rampone.

HANO, JENSEN AND PENNY ARE THIS WEEK'S HUMBOLDT STATE LUMBERJACK STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

This week's Cal Poly Humboldt student-athletes of the week are three Lumberjack track and field student-athletes in Joy Hano, Julian Jensen and Kayla Penny.
 
Joy HanoHano moved into sixth place on the Humboldt top ten list in the 100-meter hurdles with her third-place time of 14.90 at the OSU PNW Invitational. She was a member of the 4x400 relay team with Kayla Penny, Valerie Heywood and Grace Kasberger that finished in third place.
 




Julian JensenJensen finished in second place in the 800-meter run and third place in the 1500-meter run.  He ran a 1:58.92 in the 800 and 4:06.99 in the 1500 at the OSU PNW Invitational.
 





Kayla PennyPenny finished in third place in the 800 and was part of the 4x400 relay team that also finished in third at the OSU PNW Invitational.  She ran a 2:24.31 in the 800.  Penny joined Hano, Valerie Heywood and Grace Kasberger that ran a 4:11.27.
