ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt's third baseman/catcher Izzy Starr was named to the 2022 Academic All-District® Softball Team, presented by CoSIDA, as announced this morning.  Starr was a First Team selection and will now be placed on the 2022 Academic All-American® Softball Team ballot with the team being announced later this month. 
 
This is the second time during her career that Starr has been named to this team as last year she received this honor.  Earlier this month, Starr was named to the 2022 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Second Team. 
 
Starr started in 51 of the Jacks' 53 games while hitting a team high .395 with 68 hits of which seven were home runs and 15 were doubles.  She led the team in doubles while driving in a team high 41 runs and scoring 23 runs. 
 
The Tracy, Calif., native was a perfect eight-for-eight in stolen base attempts and posted a .419 on-base percentage and a .605 slugging percentage.  She had 23 multiple-hit games including going four-for-five and driving in seven runs on February 2 at Holy Names University. 
 
Last season, Starr earned 2021 NFCA All-American honors as well as being on the NFCA Player to Watch Top 30 List.  Starr was a member of the D2ADA Academic Achievement list as well as the CCAA All-Academic Team and the CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll. 
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team is voted on by the district's sports information directors which consists of institutions in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) and the PacWest Conference.
