VOLLEYBALL TO FACE PIONEERS AND COUGARS IN FIRST TWO HOME MATCHES OF THE REGULAR SEASON
After starting their season 1-2 two weeks ago at the Green Chile Classic in New Mexico, Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks' volleyball team will host Cal State East Bay in both their home and CCAA opener of the 2022 season this Thursday, September 8. The Jacks will host Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, September 10. Both matches are scheduled to start at 5pm at Lumberjack Arena. Avery McIntyre was named to the Green Chile Classic All-Tournament Team for the Jacks.
TRIATHLON TO BEGIN INAUGURAL SEASON THIS SUNDAY IN OREGON
The Lumberjack women's triathlon team will begin their first season of competition this Sunday, September 11 in Sweet Home, Oregon, at the Best of the West Sprint Triathlon. This will be the first of three triathlons for the Jacks, under the guidance of head coach
Kinsey Laine. They will be at the Oktoberfest Sprint Triathlon (September 25, Longmont, Colorado) and the West Region National Qualifier (October 15, Stockton, Missouri). The Jacks will be looking to qualify for the Women's Collegiate National Triathlon Championships on November 12 in Tempe, Arizona.
MEN'S SOCCER TO BEGIN TWO-GAME HOME STAND THIS WEDNESDAY
Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team will return home this Wednesday, September 7 to begin a two-game home stand. The Jacks will entertain Simpson at 3pm on Wednesday. They will face Academy of Art on Monday, September 12 at noon. Humboldt is 0-1-3 after going 0-1-1 in its two-game road trip in Hawai'i. The Jacks tied 1-1 at Hawai'i Pacific on Thursday evening as Alex Lopez connected on a ball from
Cole Falco and Devin Hauenstein. Adrian Gallardo had two saves in goal for the Jacks. Humboldt saw its three-match unbeaten streak snapped in a 2-1 loss at Hawai'i Hilo on Sunday. Ramiro Rosas scored the Jacks' goal off a ball from Juan Perez and Hauenstein. Gallardo had four saves in goal for Humboldt.
WOMEN'S SOCCER IMPROVES TO 2-1-1
The Lumberjack women's soccer team went 2-0 in their two-game home stand this weekend with a 2-0 win over William Jessup and a 1-0 victory over Holy Names. In their win over WJU on Thursday, Emma McChristie scored the Jacks' first goal off a ball from Frida Duran Arellano. That connection was part of the Jacks' second goal along with Grace Johnson. Duran Arellano scored off a ball from Johnson and McChristie. Carson Thomson-Terrel had two saves in goal for Humboldt. On Saturday, the match's only goal came from Carmella Baldassarre off a ball from Duran Arellano. Thomson-Terrel recorded her third straight shutout while posting three saves in goal for Humboldt.
CAL POLY HUMBOLDT ATHLETICS' HALL OF FAME DINNER & CEREMONY SET FOR OCTOBER 7
Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Athletics' Hall of Fame Ceremony for the Class of 2022 is set for October 7th at the Sapphire Palace Room in the Blue Lake Casino & Hotel in Blue Lake, Calif. This year's class includes the 1977 Men's Cross Country Team, Courtney Hiatt (Softball, 2010-13), Nikki Ketteringham (Softball, 2008-11), Alex Markarian (Football, 2011-14), Josh Suggs (Men's Soccer, 2008-11), Tom Trepiak (Administrator) and Kersey Wilcox (Women's Basketball, 2013-15).

40th ANNUAL SWING FOR THE JACKS GOLF CLASSIC SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 29
Cal Poly Humboldt has rescheduled its 40
th Annual Swing for the Jacks Golf Classic. The event date has been adjusted due to an existing conflict at Baywood Golf & Country Club. The 40th Annual Swing for the Jacks Golf Classic is set for Saturday, October 29, 2022. Registration and check-in begin at 8:45 a.m., with a shotgun start set for 10:00 a.m.

LOPEZ AND THOMSON-TERREL ARE THIS WEEK'S CAL POLY HUMBOLDT STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer midfielder Alex Lopez and women's soccer goalkeeper Carson Thomson-Terrel are this week's Lumberjack Student-Athletes of the Week.
Lopez scored what proved to be the game-tying goal in the Jacks' 1-1 draw at Hawai'i Pacific on Thursday evening in Waipio, Hawai'i. The sophomore connected on a ball from
Cole Falco and Devin Hauenstein with a little over 16 minutes left in the match. This was his first goal of the season while seeing action in all four matches and starting in all but one.
Thomson-Terrel recorded back-to- back shutouts in the Jacks' 2-0 home stand this weekend. She started the weekend with two saves in Humboldt's 2-0 win over William Jessup. She finished the weekend with a season high three saves en route to her third straight shutout. For the season, she has seven saves, a 0.25 goals against average while allowing just one goal in Humboldt's first four matches of the regular season.
