Humboldt to Begin Two-Game Home Stand This Wednesday

Humboldt Men's Soccer Team will host Simpson Sept. 7 at 3pm
ARCATA,  Calif.--- Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team will return home to begin a two-game home stand this Wednesday, September 7 at 3pm when they entertain Simpson University.  The Jacks will host Academy of Art on Monday, September 10 at noon.
 
LAST WEEK:  The Jacks are now 0-1-3 after going 0-1-1 in their trip to Hawai'i this Labor Day Weekend.  Humboldt started its trip with a 1-1 draw to Hawai'i Pacific on Sept. 1 when Alex Lopez connected on a ball from Cole Falco and Devin Hauenstein with less than 17 minutes left in the match.  Adrian Gallardo had two saves in goal for the Jacks.  The Jacks lost 2-1 in heartbreaking fashion to Hawai'i Hilo on Sunday when the Vulcans scored with seven minutes left in the match.  Ramiro Rosas scored for the Jacks on a ball from Juan Perez and Hauenstein.  Gallardo posted four saves in goal for Humboldt.
 
UPDATE ON THE JACKS:  Cal Poly Humboldt is 0-1-3 entering its two-game home stand.  The Jacks have scored four goals and recorded six assists this season. Devin Hauenstein leads the way with his four points.  He has scored a goal and added a team high two assists.  Juan Perez is next with three points with a goal and an assist.  Also scoring goals for the Jacks are Alex Lopez and Ramiro Rosas. Cole Falco, Nico Herrera Land and Dylan Tovani each have an assist.  Adrian Gallardo has posted a 1.25 goals against average in goal for the Jacks with 15 saves and a shutout. 
 
SIMPSON RED HAWKS: The Jacks will begin their two-game home-stand this Wednesday, September 7 at 3pm when they host Simpson University Red Hawks.  Simpson is 0-0-2 after tying William Jessup 1-1 and Oregon Tech 2-2.  Jesus Ramirez Cervantes leads the way with his two goals while Austin Miller has a team high two assists.  Heriberto Cuevas has a 2.00 goals against average with five saves in goal for the Red Hawks.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES:  Cal Poly Humboldt leads the all-time series with the Red Hawks 5-0 including defeating Simpson 1-0 on September 17, 2021, in Arcata.  Marco Silveira scored the Jacks' goal off a ball from Nico Herrera Land and Devin HauensteinJacob Cotton posted the shutout in goal for Humboldt.  The previous meeting in 2019 in Redding, the Jacks won 5-1 with Hauenstein scored Humboldt's goal off a ball from Cole Falco
 
 ACADEMY OF ART: The Urban Knights are 0-3 entering their game this Saturday, September 10 at Cal State East Bay.  They have lost 2-0 to Cal State Dominguez Hills, 4-1 to Claremont-Mud-Scripps and 7-0 to San Francisco State.  Gilly Miller scored Academy of Art's goal while Davis King has posted a 4.33 goals against average. 
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: Cal Poly Humboldt leads the all-time series with Academy of Art 5-0 with the Jacks defeating the Urban Knights 3-1 on September 9, 2018.
 
UP NEXT: After their match on September 12 with Academy of Art, the Jacks will begin a three-game trip starting on September 17.  Humboldt will face Chico State on September 17 in a rare non-conference match-up in Chico beginning at 7pm.  The Jacks will continue their road trip the following weekend in the Bay Area as they begin CCAA play.  Humboldt will be in San Francisco on September 23 for a 12:30pm starting match with San Francisco State.  The Jacks will finish off their road trip with a 2pm starting match in Rohnert Park against Sonoma State.
