ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics Department is pleased to announce that tickets are now available for the 39th Annual Athletics Auction. This signature event will take place on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at the Sapphire Palace in Blue Lake Casino.

The evening will feature 2024 Hall of Fame inductees Alex Cappa and Robin Meiggs. This exclusive opportunity allows attendees to hear firsthand from these distinguished alumni about their experiences and contributions to Cal Poly Humboldt athletics and beyond.

Alex Cappa, a standout offensive lineman for the Lumberjacks from 2014 to 2017, has achieved remarkable success in the National Football League. During his time at Humboldt, Cappa was a three-time All-American selection and four-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Lineman of the Year. Drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Cappa was part of the Buccaneers' Super Bowl-winning team in 2020. He currently plays for the Cincinnati Bengals and has started 97 games in the NFL. Cappa holds the distinction of being the highest NFL draft pick to come out of Humboldt.

"I had some of the best times of my life at Humboldt playing football," stated Cappa. "I can't wait to come back and be a part of this event. Go Jacks!"

   

Robin Meiggs, one of Cal Poly Humboldt's most decorated coaches, led the Women's Rowing Program for 25 years. Her impressive achievements include two NCAA Division II National Championships (2012 and 2014) and three Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" honors. In recognition of her outstanding career, Meiggs was inducted into the National Rowing Hall of Fame in 2023. Her legacy continues through the Robin A. Meiggs Scholarship Fund, supporting selected athletes on the Women's Rowing Team for generations to come.

The Athletics Auction is a crucial fundraising event that directly supports student-athlete scholarships and the overall success of Lumberjack athletics programs.

In addition to the auction, Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics is excited to announce that a Hall of Fame reception will be held on Friday, April 4th. More details about this event will be released soon.
