ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team is set to continue down the last stretch of the 2025 regular season with a pair of key matchups this weekend. The 'Jacks travel to UC Merced on Friday, Oct. 31, before returning home to College Creek Field for their final contest against Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Frdiay's match for the men kicks off at 3 p.m. PT. Sunday's home match will kick off at 2 p.m. PT. 

LAST TIME OUT

The men (3-10-2, 0-6-1 CCAA) showed grit and determination in their most recent outing, earning a dramatic 2-2 draw against (RV) Cal State LA. After trailing 2-0 at halftime, Humboldt stormed back behind late goals from Luke Gomes and Shota Lam, who equalized with a stunning free kick in the 88th minute. Goalkeeper Edwin Monterrosa anchored the back line with 10 saves in the comeback effort.

NO MERCY AGAINST UC MERCED

For the men, UC Merced (2-8-3, 1-5-1 CCAA) finally found the win column in their most recent outing after a five game losing streak and eleven straight games without a win. The matchup gives Humboldt an important chance to build confidence and momentum heading into the rest of their season. 

OVERTHROWING THE OTTERS

The Otter men (4-9-2, 1-6-1 CCAA) enter the weekend looking to make a statement in their last game of the season after losing five of their last six. Humboldt will aim to replicate the intensity and resilience shown at Cal State LA, relying on its late-match composure to end the campaign with a victory at College Creek Field.
