ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt women's basketball tips off its CCAA schedule at home this week as the Lumberjacks welcome Stanislaus State on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday afternoon matchup with UC Merced at 1 p.m. inside Lumberjack Arena.
Riding Momentum Into Conference Play
The Lumberjacks enter the week with confidence after securing their first win of the season, an emphatic 88–67 victory over Jessup University. Humboldt's offensive rhythm clicked early and often, highlighted by six players scoring in double figures and a dominant 30-point third quarter that blew the game open.
Shade Satica powered the 'Jacks with a strong double-double performance—11 points and 15 rebounds—anchoring Humboldt on both ends of the floor. Kya Kanoho and Leamsi Acuna combined for 30 points, providing a dynamic backcourt spark that set the tone throughout the night.
CCAA Home Opener: Thursday vs. Stanislaus State
Humboldt begins its CCAA journey Thursday evening against a Stanislaus State squad looking to establish its identity early in conference play. For the 'Jacks, the focus remains on expanding the balanced scoring attack showcased last weekend and continuing to build defensive cohesion.
With momentum finally rolling in their favor, the Lumberjacks aim to set an early tone in conference action by protecting home court and extending their winning streak.
Saturday Test: UC Merced Comes to Town
Saturday's matchup with UC Merced gives Humboldt another opportunity to sharpen rotations and solidify chemistry as the team settles into the rhythm of conference competition. The 'Jacks will look to lean on their rebounding strength, depth-driven scoring, and emerging on-court connectivity as they close out the weekend slate.
