Jacks Bury Bobcats in 94–55 Victory Behind Record Defensive Performance

ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt put together its most dominant performance of the season on Saturday afternoon, rolling past UC Merced 94–55 inside Lumberjack Arena. The victory pushes the Jacks to 3–3 overall and a perfect 2–0 in CCAA play, while the Bobcats drop to 3–6.

The 94-point outburst marks Humboldt's highest scoring game since December 18, 2021, when the Jacks posted 105 points against Chico State.

Defensively, the Jacks were electric—none more than Shade Satica, who recorded eight steals, the most by any Humboldt player in a single game since 2022. Satica added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists in a complete two-way performance.

Humboldt set the tone early with a 27-point opening quarter fueled by six made threes. The Jacks never looked back, winning every period and holding UC Merced to just seven points in the second quarter.

Balanced Scoring Leads the Way

Humboldt's depth overwhelmed the Bobcats, producing 42 bench points and nine players scoring six or more.

  • Kyori Lloyd led all scorers with 17 points on an efficient 7-for-12 shooting.

  • Jordyn Smith nearly posted a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

  • Riley Sanz delivered a spark off the bench with 15 points and six rebounds.

  • Jada Barnes added 13 points, knocking down two threes while collecting two steals.

The Jacks shot 46.1% from the field and 42.4% from beyond the arc, while forcing 27 Merced turnovers that led to 19 points.

Defensive Presence

Alongside Satica's historic eight-steal outing, Humboldt piled up 21 total steals, their most in a game for the program in the CCAA era. The Jacks also held UC Merced to 37.3% shooting and just 7-for-24 from three.
