ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt Men's Soccer will kick off its 2025 season on Thursday, September 4, hosting Jessup University at 2:00 p.m. at College Creek Field. The matchup is set to be the start of the Lumberjacks' regular season campaign as they look to excel in non-conference play before entering a challenging CCAA slate. Humboldt begins the year ranked 11th in the CCAA preseason poll and will look to set the tone with a strong showing in their home opener.
The Lumberjacks are ready to take the field under head coach Fred Jungemann, who enters his 13th season at the helm. With a roster blending experienced returning athletes and a promising rookie class, Humboldt has spent the preseason preparing for a demanding schedule that currently includes three nationally ranked opponents. Thursday's matchup against provides the 'Jacks with an opportunity to get off on the right foot.
'JACKS VS. JESSUP
Jessup University comes into the contest eager to open its season against Humboldt after two scrimmages during the preseason. In their most recent face-off, Humboldt took home the victory in a 2-1 battle on the road. The Lumberjacks are undefeated in the handful of times the two teams have met and coach Jungemann will look to keep it that way to begin the 2025 regular season.
