ARCATA, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer team returns to College Creek Field this week to host UC Merced before traveling to Fresno Pacific for the second half of its CCAA schedule.

Humboldt will face UC Merced on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. before meeting Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. at Ramirez Field.

LAST TIME OUT

The Lumberjacks enter the week with a 2-8-3 overall record and a 1-6 mark in CCAA play following a road contest at Cal State San Marcos.

Benjamin McDonald recorded six saves against the Cougars, including five during the second half. Shota Lam placed Humboldt's lone shot on goal, while the Lumberjacks earned four corner kicks.

WELCOMING UC MERCED

UC Merced enters Thursday's match at 4-5-3 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

The Bobcats have earned nine points in the CCAA standings and will arrive in Arcata following consecutive conference losses. Thursday's match will be Humboldt's first home appearance since its Senior Day contest against Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 4.

MEETING FRESNO PACIFIC

The Lumberjacks will close the week Saturday at Fresno Pacific.

The Sunbirds enter the week with a 5-7-1 overall record and a 2-5 mark in CCAA play. Fresno Pacific earned a 4-0 victory over Chico State before falling at Cal State San Bernardino in its most recent match.

Saturday will mark the second meeting between the programs this season. The teams previously met at the Menlo Kickoff Weekend in August.

Humboldt will continue its road stretch against Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. and Stanislaus State on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.
