LAST TIME OUT
The Lumberjacks are coming off an eventful Hawai'i trip that showcased Humboldt's offensive potential. On Tuesday, the 'Jacks came close in both games against Hawai'i Hilo, but fell short by one run in each.
Cal Poly Humboldt split its Friday doubleheader against Hawai'i Pacific, highlighted by an explosive 18-2 run-rule victory in game one. The Lumberjacks pounded out 18 hits in the opener, with Marissa Brody delivering a perfect 4-for-4 performance that included three doubles and six RBIs.
Katlyn Gifford added three hits and four runs scored, while Shelby Shanks drove in three runs. Lily Fournier earned the win in the circle, striking out seven without issuing a walk.
The second game proved far tighter, as Hawai'i Pacific beat Humboldt 5-4 despite another strong showing from Brody, who drove in three runs.
Humboldt's offense remained productive throughout the trip, including a commanding 8-2 win over Chaminade. Bella Garcia led the way with a 4-for-4 performance, while Alyssa Ramirez recorded a two-run triple. Fournier and Mason Hatton combined to limit Chaminade's offense and secure the victory.
