ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt softball team will continue CCAA action at home this weekend as the Lumberjacks host Cal State San Bernardino for a four-game series at Humboldt Softball Field.

The Lumberjacks enter the weekend 18-19 overall and 9-7 in CCAA play, sitting in third place in the CCAA standings after winning three of four games against Cal State Monterey Bay last weekend. With conference positioning beginning to tighten heading into the second half of league play, Humboldt will look to continue its momentum and strengthen its standing with another important home series.
LAST TIME OUT
Cal Poly Humboldt is coming off a strong weekend at home after taking three of four games from Cal State Monterey Bay.
The Lumberjacks swept Friday's doubleheader with a 4-1 win in game one and a dramatic 7-6 walk-off victory in game two after erasing a six-run deficit. Humboldt then split Saturday's twin bill, falling 3-2 in the opener before bouncing back with a 10-9 win to secure the series.
Humboldt saw strong performances throughout the weekend from players like Shelby Shanks, Katlyn Gifford, Bella Garcia, Marissa Brody, and Alexa Garcia, while Lily Fournier continued to deliver key innings in the circle.
TAKING ON THE COYOTES
Cal State San Bernardino (18-18, 7-9 CCAA) sits in the middle of the CCAA standings with a .500 record. The Coyotes split their last conference matchup with Cal State Dominguez Hills and have won three of their last four meetings against non-conference opponents.
Meanwhile, the 'Jacks have been victorious in nine of the last 13 outings, including two series wins against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State Monterey Bay as well as a series tie against No. 3 ranked Cal State East Bay.
Currently sitting third in the CCAA standings, Humboldt will look to build on momentum from its recent series win and continue protecting home field in a pivotal stretch of the conference schedule.
The Lumberjacks have shown consistent offensive depth in recent weeks, with timely hitting throughout the lineup and multiple comeback victories. In the circle, Humboldt has continued to rely on Lily Fournier, Mason Hatton, and Ariana Bottel to provide key innings in conference play.
