SEASIDE, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt volleyball team takes its unbeaten conference record on the road this week for matches against Cal State Monterey Bay and Menlo.
The Lumberjacks will face Monterey Bay on Friday, Sept. 18, at 5 p.m. inside The Kelp Bed in Seaside.
Humboldt will then travel to Atherton to meet Menlo on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion.
LAST TIME OUT
Humboldt improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in CCAA play after sweeping its conference-opening homestand.
The Lumberjacks opened CCAA competition with a five-set victory over Stanislaus State before defeating Chico State in straight sets Saturday. Humboldt topped the Wildcats by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-18.
Graysen Trupp led the Lumberjacks with 10 kills and five total blocks against Chico State.
Branson Lennon recorded nine kills and 15 digs, while
Avary Spoja added nine kills on a .368 hitting percentage.
Elizabeth Jade Andrade anchored the back row with 13 digs.
Brielle Wilson distributed 17 assists, while
Claire Crawford added 13 assists and two service aces.
Humboldt hit .208 and held Chico State to a .080 hitting percentage. The Lumberjacks closed the match on a 7-0 run after the third set was tied at 18-18.
FACING MONTEREY BAY
The Lumberjacks will begin the road trip Friday against Cal State Monterey Bay.
The Otters enter the week with an 0-8 overall record and an 0-2 mark in CCAA play. Monterey Bay opened conference competition with road losses to No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Los Angeles.
Five of the Otters' first eight matches have extended beyond three sets, including two five-set contests. Friday will be Monterey Bay's conference home opener.
MATCHUP WITH MENLO
Humboldt will travel to Atherton on Saturday to face Menlo in the first meeting of the season between the programs.
The Oaks enter the week with a 2-6 record after opening CCAA play against Cal State Los Angeles and No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona. Menlo's victories came against Jessup and Vanguard.
Saturday's match will be the second contest of Menlo's conference-opening homestand. The Oaks will host Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday before facing the Lumberjacks.
Humboldt and Menlo will meet again Thursday, Sept. 24, inside Lumberjack Arena.

The Lumberjacks will return to Lumberjack Arena to host Menlo on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. Humboldt will then welcome Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. for Youth and Camper Day.
