The 26th Annual HSU Softball Clinic is now open for registration.  The general clinic is open to coaches and players at all levels of play. To register online, click HERE.

The clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2014. The cost is $65 for one session or $100 for both sessions. 

Coaches and players have the opportunity to learn from the Humboldt State staff, named the 2013 NCAA Division II West Region Softball Coaching Staff of the Year. The purpose of the clinic is to accommodate coaches and players at all levels of play. The clinic is divided into two sessions.

Session 1 is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, and will cover hitting, bunting and defense.  Participants will receive a hitting evaluation with recommendations on how to improve their hitting.  

Session 2, to be held on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, will be for pitchers and catchers. Pitchers will be separated according to ability from beginning to advanced with emphasis on proper throwing techniques for the fast ball, drop, rise, change-up, curve and screw ball. Catchers will work on fundamentals including framing, pickoffs, blocking, pitch selection and strategies.

An added feature for players will be contests with awards for hitting and throwing. Athletes  will be placed in the following categories: elementary, junior high school and high school.
