Micaela Harris

Harris enters her first season as the assistant softball coach after playing six seasons for the Lumberjacks under Shelli Sarchett. Harris is a second-generation Humboldt softball player, with her older sister, Darian Harris, being a part of the 2016 team that made it to the National Championship.

During her six years at Humboldt (2018-23) Harris broke the CCAA conference record for career stolen bases and career runs scored. She had 169 stolen bases and 190 career runs. She also holds the CCAA record for most stolen bases in a single game, with six against Texas A&M International on February 2, 2023. She is tied for third in all of Division II for the single season stolen base record with 56 in 2023. Harris is currently fifth in the CCAA record books for career at-bats (769), sixth in career triples (18), seventh in career hits (271) and ninth in career starts (239).

In her six seasons at Humboldt, Harris had a career average of .371, started in all 239 games since her freshman year, recorded 271 hits, 14 home runs, 121 RBI’s, a .420 on-base percentage, and an impressive .967% fielding percentage; either behind the plate or in the outfield.

Harris is a 4x All-CCAA recipient, in which she earned First-Team honors both as a catcher and outfielder. She is also a 2x NFCA All-West Region First-Team selection, where she also earned one award at catcher and one award as an outfielder. Harris rounds out her accolades with a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second-Team award and a NFCA Third Team All-American Award for catching in 2022.

During her final season playing as a Lumberjack, Harris was named the CCAA Player of the Week in April of 2023 and was a recipient of the 2023 Rawlings Gold Glove Award in Center Field.

Harris graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt in the Spring of 2022 with a degree in Psychology.Â
