Rhaney Harris

Rhaney Harris enters her first season as assistant coach at Cal Poly Humboldt.

"We are beyond excited to have Coach Harris as a part of the Lumberjack family," said head coach Megan Corriea. "She is coming in with great knowledge of the west region, as she has played and coached in it. Not only will she bring pitching knowledge but she is an expert in teaching the mental side of the game."

Harris enters her third season of coaching at the collegiate level. She most recently served as the assistant softball coach for the past two seasons at Central Washington University.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Cal Poly Humboldt coaching staff," said Harris. "I look forward to working alongside Coach Corriea and the rest of the staff, contributing to the program's excellence on and off the field. Providing my knowledge in pitching, as well as the mental game, are aspects of the sport that I am passionate about. I'm excited to help build this program while creating an environment where our student-athletes can thrive."

Focusing on pitching, Harris helped guide the Wildcats staff to a 3.58 ERA in her first season. From the pitchers at CWU, Harris coached an All-GNAC pitcher in both 2023 and 2024.

The Omak High School graduate started her collegiate career at Bellevue College, where she pitched for two seasons (2017-2019). She was a First Team North Region selection and NFCA First Team All-American her sophomore season. She then transferred to Concordia University of Portland to continue her career before the closure of the university in early 2020.

Harris then found her way to CWU to spend the final two seasons of her collegiate career, and earned Honorable Mention All-GNAC honors for both seasons. Over her two year span at CWU, Harris posted a 3.64 ERA and a 17-13 record. She started 28 games and pitched through 19 of them for 188.1 innings of work. She had 90 strikeouts and held opponents to a .288 batting average. Harris was also named to the Academic All-GNAC team both years.

Originally from Omak, Washington, Harris graduated from Central Washington University and earned her Masters in Sport and Athletic Administration (2022). Prior to receiving her Masters, she also earned an undergraduate degree in Business with a concentration in Sport Management (2020). Harris is also a mental performance coach for young female athletes.
