ARCATA — (Oct. 26) Seniors
Staci Self and
Kim Halloran were named to the all-California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer first team while three additional Lumberjacks earned all-conference honors as well, the conference announced Thursday.
Along with Self and Halloran, seniors
Lindsey Harpham and
Jessica Hewins were named to the all-second team while sophomore
Kelsey Gomula earned honorable mention honors.
In goal, Self had a standout senior season, giving up just eight goals in 20 games for a 0.46 goals against average. Self also collected seven shutouts and 70 saves on the year. This is the second straight year the senior earned all-conference first team honors.
Halloran, a midfielder, led the Lumberjacks in scoring this eason, tallying eight goals, along with a pair of assists. She also had a team-high four game-winning goals.
Harpham, a defender, tallied one goal and four assists this season, using her speed to create opportunities out of the back.
In the midfield, Hewins distributed the ball well, while also adding five goals and three assists.
Gomula directed Humboldt's defensive line all season while also contributing one assist.
The Lumberjacks, who finished the regular-season with a 12-4-4 overall record and a 9-3-4 conference mark, play Friday at 7 p.m. on the opening day of the CCAA Championship Tournament. The four-team, single-elimination tournament will determine the conference champion.
