ARCATA – Humboldt State continued its success in its California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball home opener Friday, sweeping Cal State Dominguez Hills in three sets, 25-23, 25-22,25-19 on Friday.

The Lumberjacks improved their overall record to 4-6 and 2-1 in the CCAA, while the Torso fell 1-10 and 0-3 in league.
 
“Tonight was a good win,” Humboldt State head volleyball coach Sue Woodstra said. “We went back and forth, but we played well at end of the game quarters."
 
In the first set the Lumberjacks came out strong, taking a 5-0 lead, but had to battle to remain on top. The Toros drew even midway through the set but were unable to gain a lead.
 
In set two, the Lumberjacks trailed the Toros, 9-12, but rallied behind Lynsey Adams and Jo Arzadon. The same pair helped HSU finish out the match in the third set.
 
Adams paced the Jacks with 15 kills, while Arzadon posted a .421 hitting percentage with 10 kills and 12 assists. Liz Shannon dished out 23 assists and the Jacks achieved a .258 hitting percentage as a team.
 
Leading the Toros for the night was TaMesha Jefferson with six kills and Rebekah Wolfgramm with 15 assists.
 
The Lumberjacks continue their home stand, hosting Cal State Los Angeles at 7p.m. Saturday.
