FRESNO, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt volleyball team begins a four-match CCAA road trip this weekend with contests against No. 4 Fresno Pacific and UC Merced.

The Lumberjacks will face nationally ranked Fresno Pacific on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. inside the Special Events Center before traveling to Merced for a 7 p.m. match against UC Merced on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Greg and Cathie Hostetler Court.

LAST TIME OUT

Humboldt enters the weekend with a 9-8 overall record and a 4-5 mark in CCAA play following a three-set loss to Fresno Pacific on Sunday.

The Sunbirds won the match by set scores of 25-13, 25-8 and 25-19. Humboldt produced its strongest stretch in the third set but could not extend the match.

Tatyana Jennings led the Lumberjacks with seven kills while hitting .294. Addison Bookstaber added six kills and two total blocks, while Graysen Trupp finished with five kills.

Claire Crawford directed the offense with 12 assists. Elizabeth Jade Andrade recorded six digs, and Emma Fauth contributed five.

REMATCH WITH FRESNO PACIFIC

The Lumberjacks will meet No. 4 Fresno Pacific for the second time in six days when the teams take the court Friday night.

The Sunbirds enter the week with a 19-0 overall record and a 9-0 conference mark after sweeping Humboldt in Arcata. Fresno Pacific hit .313 in the first meeting and recorded 11 service aces.

Friday's contest gives Humboldt an immediate opportunity to make adjustments from Sunday's match as the Lumberjacks begin the second half of their conference schedule.

RETURN MATCH AT UC MERCED

Humboldt will conclude the weekend Saturday against UC Merced.

The Lumberjacks defeated the Bobcats in five sets on Oct. 15 at Lumberjack Arena. Humboldt recovered after dropping the opening set and secured the victory by scores of 23-25, 30-28, 25-23, 20-25 and 15-10.

UC Merced enters the week with a 5-13 overall record and a 2-7 mark in CCAA play. The Bobcats followed their loss in Arcata with a four-set victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Saturday's match will conclude the regular-season series between the Lumberjacks and Bobcats.

UP NEXT

The Lumberjacks will continue their road trip Friday, Oct. 30, against Cal State Los Angeles at 5 p.m. before facing Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m.
