ARCATA – In its final game of the Humboldt Tournament, the Humboldt State volleyball team fell in four sets to the Academy of Art Saturday.
 
Errors, once again, plagued the Jacks as they lost a tough battle to the Urban Knights, 19-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-25.

The Jacks finished the tournament 1-2.
 
“We played well in the third set, I just think we played tougher last weekend,” said Humboldt State head coach Sue Woodstra. “We need to be more aggressive in difficult situations.”
 
The second set showed hope for the Jacks as they battled for the lead throughout the set, but ultimately fall, 23-25, to the Urban Knights.
 
“I believe we are making progress,” said Woodstra. “We are still figuring out who works on the court and who gets playing time.”
 
On the day, Lynsey Adams led the team with 11 kills, while Danielle Wells posted a .444 hitting percentage with nine kills. Dani Nelson recorded 14 digs and Liz Shannon dished out 19 assists.
 
The Urban Knights' Dan Yang recorded 28 kills with a .417 hitting percentage, while Kauwila Lavea and Jelena Jakoljevic tallied 10 a piece and Olivia White dished out 49 assists. Academy of Art is now 4-3 overall.

Marissa Galletly's performance in the third set helped lead the Lumberjacks to take the their lone set of the day, leading the team with three kills. Jo Arzadon, Wells and Toni Kroeker contributed two kills a piece.
 
“We have good rhythm when things are going well, but we need to be able to have the same mindset when we face difficult situations,” said Woodstra.
 
The Jacks, who are now 2-5 overall, hit the road to begin California Collegiate Athletic Association play next weekend, as they travel to Chico and then Turlock to take on Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus, Friday and Saturday, respectively, with 7 p.m. starts.
