With the loss, HSU drops to 1-17 overall and 1-13 in the CCAA. The CSUS Warriors improve to 11-9 and 8-7 in conference games.

Eva Chafeh contributed a pair of kills to open the first set, helping CSU Stanislaus gain a 4-0 lead. The only time the Jacks were in striking distance was at 5-4, but the Warriors gained steam and pulled away to a 25-18 win on another kill by Chafeh.

Liane Vicchio and Andrea Fett both got hot in the second set, helping the Warriors pull away to the 25-17 win. Kills by HSU's Jo Arzadon and Allison Drobish towards the end of the set gave the Jacks a measure of momentum heading into the third set.

Kills by Arzadon and Oceana Matsubu, and services aces by Drobish and Taylor Manuel helped the Jacks gain a 5-2 lead at the beginning of the third set. But the Warriors worked their way back, taking the lead at 9-7 on Jessica Lehner's service ace.

From that point, the Warriors gradually pulled away, earning the 25-19 win on a Lumberjack hitting error.

Matsubu led HSU's hitters with eight kills, while Arzadon and Manuel each contributed five. Arzadon also contributed 17 assists.

Vicchio and Fett both broke into double figures in kills for CSUS, putting down 16 and 10, respectively. Megan Britton led her team in digs with 17 and Chafeh added 11 to go along with her eight kills.

Humboldt State is back in Lumberjack Arena on Saturday for a 7 p.m. match against Chico State. Fans wearing pink will be admitted free as part of "Dig for a Cure Night," an effort to promote breast cancer awareness.
