ARCATA — After taking the first set with an impressive effort, Humboldt State was unable to maintain, dropping a 18-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-17 decision to Cal Poly Pomona in Saturday's California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball match.
The loss drops HSU to 0-10 on the season and 0-5 in league games while Cal Poly Pomona improved to 4-6 and 2-4 in conference.
Three Broncos paced CPP's attack with double-digit kills. Lindsey Poulos and Diana Lake each contributed 15, and Taylr Kreutziger added 10 kills. Kelly Bonja was the team's leader, defensively, with 16 digs, and Lake added 15 to a well-rounded effort.
Oceana Matsubu was the lone Lumberjack to dent double digits, putting away 12 kills on the evening. Freshman libero

Ashley Neale had 10 for the Jacks. Alison Drobish led all players with four blocks, helping HSU out-block the Broncos, 6-3.
The Jacks travel for a midweek match against Sonoma State on Wednesday befor returning home for a pair of weekend CCAA matches. They'll face Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday and San Francisco State on Saturday, both matches beginning at 7 p.m. in Lumberjack Arena.
