ROHNERT PARK— A midweek roadtrip proved unrewarding for the Humboldt State volleyball team, which fell to Sonoma State, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match Wednesday.

The loss kept HSU winless on the season at 0-11 overall and 0-7 in the CCAA. Sonoma State improved to 7-4 in all matches and 4-3 in league contests.

Oceana Matsubu was HSU's leading weapon again, putting down a team-high six kills. The junior hitter suffered 10 errors however, and combined with her teammate for a disappointing .036 hitting percentage.

Defensively, a trio of Lumberjacks came up with double-digits in digs, led by Taylor Manuel's 13. Matsubu and Jo Arzadon each contributed 12 digs to the HSU effort.

Arzadon contributed her usual balanced effort, coming away with 18 assists and four kills for a .375 hitting percentage. Allison Drobish had two block solos for for the Lumberjacks.

Keala Peterson posted a double-double for the Seawolves, achieving team-highs in kills with 10 and also coming up with 11 digs. Taylor Krenwinkel had a match-high 25 digs.

Humboldt State returns home for Friday and Saturday matches in Lumberjack Arena. Cal State Monterey Bay faces HSU at 7 p.m. Friday, and San Francisco State takes on the Jacks at 7 p.m. Saturday.
