Box Score SAN FRANCISCO — After a tough defeat to open the weekend, the Humboldt State volleyball team bounced back to bite San Francisco State in four sets, 3-1, Saturday night.
The Lumberjacks (5-3/2-2 California Collegiate Athletic Association) claimed the victory by coming out strong to take the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-16. The Gators won the third set, 25-22, but saw the visitors complete the win with a 25-19 fourth set.
"The first two sets were some of the best volleyball we've played all year. I'm pleased with the way the girls bounced back after last night's disappointing loss," said HSU Head Coach
Kelly Wood.
There were no stats available Saturday night for the match.
"We are very ready for the home opener this Thursday and are looking forward to playing in front of our home fans," said the HSU coach.
The Jacks will be the final fall sports team to open their home schedule next week. HSU will host Cal State Stanislaus on Thursday night starting at 7 p.m. in Lumberjack Arena.
