SAN MARCOS, Calif. – One day after a dramatic come-from-behind win over UC San Diego, Humboldt State volleyball was back on the court taking on Cal State San Marcos in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match. Unfortunately, the Lumberjacks dropped a 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 26-24) decision to the Cougars.
With the loss, the Jacks fall to 10-10 overall and 5-7 in CCAA play.
Offensively,
Symone Hayden led the Jacks with 13 kills.
Jessica Lammers paced the Green and Gold with 18 assists, while
Katherine Rifilato recorded 10 assists. Defensively, Hayden was HSU's digs leader with 15.
The Cougars (13-8, 6-6 CCAA) were led by the duo of Lauren Lee and Brooke Butler who each recorded nine kills. Aleese Wheaton notched a match-high 29 assists for San Marcos.
HSU returns home for a pair of matches this upcoming week against Cal State Dominguez Hills (Thursday, Oct. 27) and Cal State Los Angeles (Friday Oct. 28). Both matches will start at 7 p.m.
