ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State volleyball claimed the first set, but Cal State Dominguez Hills rallied to earn a 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-19) victory in California Collegiate Athletic Association play on Thursday night at Lumberjack Arena.
The loss drops the Lumberjacks to 10-11 overall and 5-8 in the CCAA.
Nicole Bewley led the Jacks with 17 kills. The Green and Gold also recorded seven blocks on the evening, while
Rachel Tostberg dished out 19 assists.
In the first set, the Jacks hit .255 and ran off seven consecutive points to close out the set, highlighted by a
Sarah Shively ace.
"I thought we played pretty well in the first set after a slow start," said head coach
Kelly Wood. "Our transition offense has been really off lately, but I thought our defense played well. We need to get better opportunities for our hitters to get the job done."
