CHICO, Calif. – Humboldt State men's soccer was unable to stop Chico State's offensive barrage in Sunday afternoon's 4-1 road loss.
HSU falls to 4-9-1 overall and 2-8-0 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play, while the Wildcats improve to 8-5-3 overall and 7-3-2 in CCAA action.
Chico State outshot the Lumberjacks 23-4 in the match, including an 11-1 advantage in the first half.
The Wildcats got on the board quickly with a goal from Carter Johnson off an assist from Rajee DeLane 2:46 into the match. Chico State added another goal in the 22nd minute when Dylan Wakefield scored on a volley from a penalty shot thanks to assists from Omar Nuno and Sasha Peranteau.
In the 55th minute, Chico extended its lead to 3-0 when Nuno intercepted an HSU pass, turned and scored from the top of the box. Just three minutes later, Nuno added his second goal of the afternoon off an assist from DeLane.
The Jacks got on the board in the 76th minute when
Johan Muliadi secured a loose ball at the far post and put it away for his third goal of the season.

Christopher Cherms had two saves for the Jacks, and he faced six shots on goal.
HSU will return home for its final two regular season games when it hosts Cal State Los Angeles (Thursday, Oct. 27) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (Saturday, Oct. 29).
