Women’s Soccer Falls in Home Tilt Versus Cal State LA

ARCATA, Calif. – The Humboldt State women's soccer team put up a good fight against Cal State Los Angeles in CCAA action Sunday afternoon at College Creek Field, but was unable to scrape together a win, falling to the Golden Eagles 1-0 on a second-half tally by the visitors.

"Today was another tough one," said Head Coach Paul Karver. "We played very well and dominated large stretches of the game, but we were not able to score. Senior Day is always special and despite the loss you could tell the girls loved playing today; today was fun."

"We have one more game with this group of seniors and hopefully we can make it count on Wednesday against San Francisco State."

HSU managed 16 shots, seven on goal, but could never find the back of the net versus the Golden Eagles. Zarette Munoz-Aguilar scored for the visitors at the 57:02 mark to provide the necessary margin.

Alex Jenkins had five shots for the home team, two on goal, and Sabine Postma had three shots, with two on goal.

The result moves the Jacks to 6-9-1 overall, 2-8-1 in conference in advance of their season finale this Wednesday at San Francisco State at 3 p.m.
