Arcata, Calif--- Humboldt State's volleyball team will travel to Southern California for a pair of CCAA road matches in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The Lumberjacks will face Cal State Los Angeles this Friday, October 18 at 7pm. HSU will be in Carson, Calif., on Saturday, October 19 for a 7pm match with Cal State Dominguez Hills.
RECAP OF HSU'S MATCH: Humboldt State lost in four sets to San Francisco State this past Saturday evening in Arcata.
Lenox Loving paced HSU with her 10 kills and 22 digs while
Summer Hansen had a team high 12 kills.
Emma Flewell recorded a match high four service with
Kayla Costello and
Odelia Ryan each recording two. Ryan also had 30 digs and
Riley Tishlarich added 29 assists.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: After this weekend's match with San Francisco State, Humboldt State is 5-9 overall and 1-6 in the CCAA.

Lenox Loving has 128. Leading the way with her 291 assists is
Riley Tishlarich with
Juliana Bertolucci recording 149.
Carla Crespo has a team leading 21 service aces and
Emma Flewell has 13. Loving and Tishlarich each have 10 with Loving recording 123 digs.
Odelia Ryan leads HSU with her 229 digs. Flewell has a team leading 45 total blocks with
Hannah Cantrell and
Malia Coyle each with 23.

GOLDEN EAGLES IN REVIEW: Cal State Los Angeles enters its match with the Lumberjacks with a 10-5 overall record and a 6-1 CCAA record. The Golden Eagles won both of their matches last weekend by 3-0 scores over UC San Diego and Cal State Dominguez Hills. They are currently receiving votes in the national poll. Cal State Los Angeles leads the all-time series with the Lumberjacks 20-3 including winning last year's meeting by a 3-0 score in Los Angeles. HSU's last win over the Golden Eagles was in four in Arcata on Oct. 23, 2015. Karla Sands leads CSULA with her 163 kills while Jeshmarie Suarez has 192 digs. Leading the way with her 337 assists is Laisa Maeda while Daisy Crenshaw has 68 total blocks and Alejandra Negron has a team high 26 aces.
TOROS IN REVIEW: Cal State Dominguez Hills enters its match with Sonoma State on Friday with an 8-6 overall record and a 1-6 CCAA record. The Toros went 0-2 last weekend losing by identical 3-0 scores to Cal State San Marcos and Cal State Los Angeles. Humboldt State leads the all-time series 15-10, but the Toros have won both meetings this season (non-conference matches) in four at San Francisco and in three in Carson. HSU last win over the Toros was on Oct. 22, 2015 in Carson, a five-set victory. Taylor Benitez-Fanslow leads the team with her 143 kills and 20 service aces while Lynda Nguyen has a team high 135 digs. Kalani Patrick has a team leading 192 assists with Renee Wheeler leading the way with 33 blocks.
UP NEXT: After Saturday's match in Carson, Humboldt State will begin a five-match home stand beginning with Cal State San Marcos on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7pm. The Lumberjacks will also host UC San Diego (Oct. 26 at 7pm), Cal State East Bay (Oct. 29 at 3pm), Chico State (Nov. 1 at 7pm) and Stanislaus State (Nov. 2 at 5pm).
