ARCATA, Calif.---  Cal State Los Angeles' Valerie Mares' first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner in the 54^th minute of the match to key the visitors' 1-0 win over the Humboldt State Lumberjacks.  Prior to the match, HSU recognized its seniors in Kaleigh Alves, Rose Harman, Pikake Hix, Jacquelyne Kittredge. Taylor Lawson, Cameron Mejia, Valerie Perez, Lindsay Stoner and Katelin Talbert. 
 
FIRST HALF:  The Golden Eagles had two chances early in the match for the 1-0 lead, when Katelin Talbert stopped both chances off the foot of Danya Gutierrez.  Humboldt State had a couple of chances in the 28^th minute for the lead when Mary Swisher and Sabine Postma had both of their chances blocked by the Golden Eagles defense.  Swisher had a header sail high for Humboldt State in the 40^th minute as the match went into the half tied at 0-0.   
 
SECOND HALF:  In the 54^th minute of the game, Valerie Maras gave the visitors the 1-0 lead off a ball from Paulina Chaidez.  Talbert stopped Maras' attempt to double CSULA's lead in the 64^th minute.  Selena Osorio had a chance to tie the match for HSU in the 78^th minute when Amanda Leal stopped her shot on goal attempt.  Pikake Hix had a chance to tie the match for the hosts when Leal made another stop for the Golden Eagles as the visitors held on for the 1-0 victory.
